About the course
The Advanced Open Water Diver course is all about advancing your skills. You practise navigation and buoyancy, try deep diving, and make three more specialty dives of your choosing. Every adventure dive you complete credits towards the matching PADI specialty certification.
Beyond the extra depth, this is the course where diving starts to feel natural: better buoyancy, better air consumption, better awareness, and access to sites and courses that require an Advanced rating.

How the course runs
Knowledge development
Straightforward knowledge reviews, completed in our classroom or online through PADI eLearning before you arrive.
Days 1 – 2
Five adventure dives from our boat under the direct supervision of your instructor, including the two mandatory ones: Underwater Navigation and the Deep Dive.

- Advanced Open Water — 2 days, 6 dives (5 adventure dives + 1 fun dive)
- Advanced Open Water + Nitrox / Enriched Air specialty — 2 days, 6 dives
- Advanced Open Water + Peak Performance Buoyancy specialty — 2 days, 6 dives
When you are certified you can
- Dive to a maximum of 30 m / 100 ft, depending on your age
- Enrol in the PADI Rescue Diver course
- Access dive sites and specialties that require an Advanced rating
