Vietnam's best wreck
Hon Mot — Shipwreck
A 30-metre wreck lying on its starboard side, now an artificial reef alive with fish.
The best way to observe a fish is to become a fish.
What to expect at Hon Mot — Shipwreck
Hon Mot Island holds the best shipwreck dive in Vietnam. A roughly 30-metre vessel lies on its starboard side between 10 and 21 metres, close enough to the surface that both newer certified divers and experienced wreck lovers get a full dive on it.
Its identity is shrouded in local mystery — time and the sea have claimed it entirely. The metal hull is a tapestry of rust, encrusted with oysters, sponges and delicate fan-like hydroids that sway gently in the current.
Around the wreck the island offers clear water, healthy coral reefs and the diverse marine life that has moved into the artificial reef.
Highlights
- 30 m wreck at 10–21 m
