About the course
Want to live the dream? Travel the world, meet people and teach scuba diving — as a seasonal job or a lifelong career. The Instructor Development Course brings your passion for the ocean to the next level.
The IDC is made up of two parts: the Assistant Instructor course and the Open Water Scuba Instructor course. Complete both and you can sit the Instructor Examination and become a PADI Instructor. Our Senior Instructor-Trainer works closely with a Course Director and the pro team to deliver it.
Sailing Club Divers holds the only 100% first-time pass rate at PADI Instructor Exams in Vietnam.
Schedule
Our IDC runs four times a year: March, June, August and November. The course spans 10–14 days including the required EFR Instructor course.
Additional costs
IDC Crew Pack and EFR Instructor Manual (approximately $700). PADI IDC application fee, Instructor Examination fee and EFRI fee (approximately $977).
Not there yet?
Any PADI Instructor who has certified at least 25 divers and earned five PADI Specialty Instructor ratings can become a Master Scuba Diver Trainer — the next step up, and a prerequisite for IDC Staff Instructor.
